Matthew Bernhardt, AIA Assoc.

Matt joined gbA Architecture + Planning in November 2021 as a designer.  Before relocating to Vermont, Matt resided in Hilton Head, SC where he worked as a designer in residential, government, military, and commercial projects.  Prior to his career in architectural design Matt attended New England School of Photography, graduated, and then worked as a photojournalist for 25 years for publications such as New York Times, AP, Albuquerque Journal, and the Sarasota Herald -Tribune.  While he was attending school to become a designer and transitioning professions from photojournalist to designer, he earned his US Coast Guard Master Captain’s License and lead eco-tours in the coastal Hilton Head area.
