Granite Factory Redesigned as a Museum Celebrating Local Culture and History
This project involves a 10,000 sf addition and the renovation of an existing 20,000 sf granite plant. The program within the existing Jones Brothers Plant includes exhibit spaces for granite technology, processes, workers, etc., and space for the Studio Arts School.
Extensive renovations to the existing building have been completed and in Phase Two, which is still to come, the addition will house a lobby, cafeteria, ticket office, and gift shop. Additional improvements that will be implemented include better parking, access to the Central Vermont Bike Path, a ghosted framework gateway, a river walk path, a connection to the Washington County Railroad, and a sculpture garden.
