VSECU – Waterbury Branch Waterbury, Vermont

  • 2015—Vermont Green Building Network Going Green Award

VSECU Waterbury, was set to be renovated into a branch bank prior to the flood of 2011. Previously the branch was located in one of the tunnels in the State Complex. The flood hastened the move. The new branches performance is amazing given the basic systems that were utilized. 2×4 Spray foamed walls, 2×8 spray foamed rafters, triple pane fiberglass windows, a repurposed Carrier propane fired furnace with a/c split system from another branch, on-demand electric water heater, and fluorescent lighting make up the major energy improvements to the building. Much attention was made to air sealing the existing walls and roofs.
