Vermont Granite Museum Barre, VT
- 2003—American Council of Engineering Companies “Grand Award” for Engineering Excellence (in association with Engineering Ventures)
This project involved a 10,000 sq ft addition and renovation of an existing 20,000 sq ft granite plant. The program within the existing Jones Brothers Plant is exhibit spaces (for granite technology, workers, processes etc.) and space for the Studio Arts School.
Extensive renovations to the existing building have been completed and in Phase Two, which is still to come, the addition will house a lobby, cafeteria, ticket office, and gift shop. Also, improvements like parking, access to the Central Vermont Bike Path, a ghosted framework gateway, a river walk path, a connection to the Washington County Rail Road, and a sculpture garden will be implemented.
