The office for Gossens Bachman Architects is a model of low cost construction and energy efficiency.

The building is positioned to take advantage of the South facing river location to maximum solar utilization. The plan allowed for 100% daylighting, and for a photovoltaic awning to provide the electrical needs of office equipment.

The south glass wall serves as a workshop for solar technologies including ongoing experiments with light shelf, glazing & shading techniques. The lessons learned will be a great advantage to future clients of the firm. Utilizing off-the-shelf construction materials in an innovative manner, an exciting office environment was created within a budget well below the market standard.
